SHIRO is a cosmetic brand born in Hokkaido, Japan, in 1989. The brand is extremely popular especially among Japanese women for its natural products (especially their perfume collection!) that are not only good for humans but also for the earth. Besides beauty, SHIRO develops the business to foods and beverages, home, and lifestyle.
SHIRO cafe is a vegan cafe serving a variety of mix Japanese and western foods. It has three branches; Sunagawa main store (Hokkaido), Jiyugaoka (Tokyo), and Shibuya Hikarie (Tokyo). The cafe is set up inside their cosmetic shop, so the customer can try their products and enjoy healthy vegan foods at the same place.
Today we visited Jiyugaoka branches and tasted their buzzy vegan meals!
SHIRO Cafe Jiyugaoka
The cafe is set up at a 5-minute walk from Jiyugaoka station, comes in an appearance of the simple all white, as its name (“Shiro” means “white” in Japanese).
The 1st floor is SHIRO cafe with a space displaying their recommended items and the B1 floor is SHIRO life presenting their natural foods product.
In the front of the cafe, you can find a takeaway menu and takeaway order counter.
Today we had vegetable pizza and vegan & gluten-free doughnuts!
The pizza comes with selectable seasonal vegetables and dressings that bring out the umami of the vegetables, available at a price of 1,540 yen (including tax).
The pizza bread is crunchy yet filling. amazingly tasty with fresh vegetables and flavorful dressings!
At the first glance, we thought we will not have our stomachs full enough just by the pizza but we were wrong! The pizza nicely fills the stomach without giving it a heavy feeling.
Next, we had vegan & gluten-free doughnuts. We can choose two from three variants available; Montblanc with Yuzu, Chocolate Orange with Calendula, and Framboise with Hamanasu with a price of 1,540 yen (including tax).
The doughnuts come in moist texture, easy to eat with a nice sweetness that can blow up your mind about vegan and gluten-free foods!
There are a lot of vegan meals available, from main foods to desserts/sweets and drinks you can enjoy only at SHIRO cafe. You can check their menu on the SHIRO cafe website (in Japanese).
