Japan’s Largest Vegan Festival Returns to Tokyo!

In exciting news, the “東京ビーガングルメ祭り2023 秋” (Tokyo Vegan Gourmet Festival 2023 Autumn) is set to take place on October 1, 2023. Organized by the Japan Plant-Based Market Association, this event promises a delightful celebration of plant-based cuisine.

The “Vegan Gourmet Festival” is known for its focus on veganism, excluding meat, fish, eggs, dairy, honey, and white sugar. It showcases a variety of gourmet stalls offering natural and eco-friendly dishes such as “organic,” “raw food,” “macrobiotic,” and “natural foods.”

The event originated in Nagoya in 2011 and has since expanded to Kyoto in 2015, Tokyo in 2016, and now hosts five annual editions across three cities (Tokyo and Nagoya in both spring and autumn). A notable feature is that all food items come with ingredient labels, although not all are made from organic ingredients. Additionally, the festival does not cater specifically to food allergies (27 specific designated allergen labeling and contamination due to manufacturing sources are not addressed).

With each edition being a huge success, this year’s “東京ビーガングルメ祭り2023 秋” (Tokyo Vegan Gourmet Festival 2023 Autumn) is expected to draw a large crowd of attendees.
