The View from the Observatory and the Illumination of the Tower is a Must-See!

Kaikyo Yume Tower opened in July 1996 as a landmark of the Kanmon Straits. From the observation room with a total length of 153m and 143m on the top floor, you can enjoy a 360-degree view. In the tower, there are panels and monitors that explain the history of Yamaguchi Prefecture from the Yayoi period to the present, such as “Battle of Dannoura” and “Duel of Korean Wave Island” in an easy-to-understand manner.

Today we will introduce why you should visit the Kaikyo Yume Tower.

The First in the World! A superb View From The All-Glass Observation Room

It takes about 70 seconds to climb the see-through elevator of Kaikyo Yume Tower. There is an observation room on the top floor installed at a height of 143m. The entire observatory, which looks like a sphere, is covered with glass and has a panoramic structure where you can enjoy the scenery of the Kanmon Straits, Ganryujima, the mountains of Kyushu, Hibiki Nada, and more. In the evening, you can see the sunset falling toward Kitakyushu, and at night, you can enjoy the night view of the city of Shimonoseki.
