Japan is promoting its domestic travel to overcome the pandemic, from Go To Travel campaign that allows residents to explore Japan with saving up to 50% and Go To Eat campaign that just launched this month, which allows a great deal of enjoying lunch and dinner with 25% off.

Following the domestic travel campaign, JR East launches the JR East Welcome Rail Pass 2020, a special limited discount pass applicable only for foreign passport holders regardless of visa status, that allows unlimited travel on all JR East trains in Tokyo, Tohoku, Nagano, and Niigata for three-day travel! The great news is, it is including the Shinkansen such as Tohoku, Yamagata, Akita, Joetsu, and Hokuriku shinkansen! The rail pass comes with a price of 12,000 yen for adults and 6,000 yen for a child, allows us to explore the eastern region of Japan this fall and winter!

The pass will be on sale from Oct 16, 2020, to February 26, 2021, with validity from Oct 16, 2020, to February 28, 2021.

The rail pass can be purchased at the JR East Travel Service Center and online purchases will be available on this link from Oct 16, 2020.
