AirAsia X from Malaysia chose Okiwana as its 5th destination Japan as a whole!

AirAsia X (LCC) which its head office locates in Malaysia launched a new regular flight going back and forth between Naha Airport and Kuala Lumpur International Airport, situates in the capital city of Malaysia as of 22nd of Jan, 2020. Event for celebrating the 1st flight from Naha to Kuala Lumpur was held at Naha Airport and Okinawa governor Denney Tamaki and staffs of Okinawa Convention and Visitors Bureau attended the event.

Aircraft used for the flight is Airbus A330 with capacity of 377 passengers, and it takes about 6 hours and a half from Kula Lumpur to Naha via Taipei, Taiwan. It’s been planned on 4 round trips between Naha and Kuala Lumpur, so the total flight will be 8 in a week. Okinawa became a 5th destination after Tokyo, Osaka, Sapporo, and Fukuoka in Japan.

Tan Sri Rafidah Aziz, the Senior Independent Non-Executive Chairman said “The launch of new flight will lead the further development of tourism industry in local community”, and Okinawa governor Denney Tamaki said “We hope that more tourists, such as from European countries will come to Okinawa via Malaysia. We want more tourists to feel the rich nature of Okinawa and culture, and get to do a mutual cultural exchange”.
