Choose A Japanese Omusubi Set Or A Plant Based Pancake Breakfast In The Heart Of Hiroshima

Finding a vegan lunch or dinner in a major Japanese city is becoming easier.
Finding a satisfying vegan breakfast before a full day of sightseeing can still be much harder.

For travelers visiting Hiroshima, there is now a new morning option worth knowing about. From July 20, 2026, the fully plant based restaurant JoGeSaYu began serving breakfast at its location in central Hiroshima.

Guests can choose between two very different morning meals: a Japanese style omusubi set or a familiar pancake breakfast made entirely without animal ingredients. For vegan travelers who want to begin the day with a proper meal rather than relying on convenience store snacks, this new service provides a practical and appealing choice.

Choose Between A Japanese Or Western Style Breakfast

JoGeSaYu now offers two breakfast sets, each priced at ¥1,500.

One introduces guests to a traditional Japanese morning meal, while the other offers a softer and more familiar option for international travelers.

Vegan Breakfast in Hiroshima

Hiroshima welcomes large numbers of international visitors traveling to sites such as the Peace Memorial Park and the Atomic Bomb Dome. Many travelers begin sightseeing early, but vegan restaurant choices during breakfast hours can be limited. Hotel breakfasts may also offer few clearly labeled plant based dishes, particularly for guests who need to confirm ingredients such as dairy, eggs, fish stock, or meat based seasonings.

JoGeSaYu’s new breakfast service gives travelers another option before heading out for the day.

It may be especially helpful for:

  • Vegan travelers staying at hotels without suitable breakfast choices
  • Visitors who want a complete meal before sightseeing
  • Travelers looking for a Japanese style vegan breakfast
  • Mixed groups with different dietary or religious needs

Instead of starting the morning by searching multiple shops for something suitable, guests can sit down and enjoy a clearly plant based meal in one place.

A Closer Look to JoGeSaYu

JoGeSaYu is a 100% plant based restaurant located in Hiroshima’s Naka Ward. Its concept is to create a place where people can share the same table regardless of nationality, culture, religion, personal values, or allergies.

All food and desserts are prepared without animal derived ingredients or alcohol. The savory menu is supervised by chef Katsumi Kusumoto of Saido, while the desserts are supervised by pastry chef Hironobu Tsujiguchi.

The restaurant is designed not only for vegans and vegetarians, but also for Muslim diners, health conscious guests, and people with a wide range of dietary needs. Through its food, JoGeSaYu aims to show that inclusive dining can still be creative, satisfying, and connected to Japanese culture.

A Better Start To A Day In Hiroshima

For vegan travelers, breakfast can shape the rest of the day.

A good morning meal removes the need to spend valuable sightseeing time checking labels, asking about ingredients, or settling for something that does not feel satisfying.

At JoGeSaYu, visitors can choose between two experiences. The Omusubi Set offers a more traditional Japanese beginning to the day. The Pancake Set provides a familiar and comforting breakfast with a plant based Japanese twist.

Both give vegan visitors one more reason to look forward to the morning in Hiroshima.
