Halal Bento at 7 Eleven
There are quite lots of Muslim tourists that bring their own food in the luggage when traveling to Japan, due to the fear of low vacancy of halal foods.
Now, you may put your mind at ease since one of the leading convenience stores in Japan, 7 Eleven, has started to sell off Halal bento on the 1stday of Eid this year, as a consequence of high demand from the Muslim inbound as well as residents. There are only two menus on the list, Butter Chicken Curry and Beef Bowl Rice (Gyudon).
After purchase, you are needed to heat the bento for about 6 minutes. You may as well ask the staff at the convenience store in using their microwave.
Butter Chicken Curry
Those who fond of a slightly familiar taste might like Butter Chicken Curry since it gets a taste of Indian curry. The curry comes with plenty of rice, so without a doubt, you will fill up for the day.
Gyudon (Beef Bowl Rice)
Next, Beef Bowl Rice or well known as Gyudon among the Japanese. The beef has a soft texture and a little bit of broth. As you heat in the microwave, it smells really good and will be easier to chew up.
At the moment, there are only 2 stores that provide this Halal bento.
You may purchase at 689 Yen (including tax).
So, you might put this on your must-to buy list for your next travel in Japan.
