Enjoying Soba in the Fresh Mountain Air, Anyone?
Mount Takao or Takaosan is a majestic nature with a spectacular view, especially famous during autumn which attracts domestic and international travelers to enjoy. Located less than an hour ride by train from Shinjuku station and still in Tokyo Metropolitan in the Hachioji city, the mountain offers a different atmosphere yet fresh air which is perfect for a day trip. During the autumn foliage season, we recommend visiting the mountain by train to avoid traffic jams.
There are two stations that heard similar, Takao station (高尾駅)」and Takaosanguchi station (高尾山口駅). Takaosanguchi station is the closest station to the Takao mountain, which you can access by changing the train from JR to Keio line at Takao station.
It was hard to find vegan meals nearby. Takaosan Sumika in front of the Cable Car Takaosan station offers vegan soba noodles since June 2020. The vegan soba uses kelp and shiitake mushrooms for the soup stock while the regular soba usually uses fish. It is also a health-friendly menu with low salt content.
