Gyomu Super as one of the largest supermarkets spreading all over Japan has a variety of halal meats to halal seasonings which makes the supermarket becomes a one-stop for Muslim residents to have halal groceries.
Recently, the supermarket offers two kinds of halal cake, which still very rare to find in a Japanese supermarket, with brand “Spice Cake” which is nice for your afternoon tea.
The cake is imported directly from Belgium and available in two flavors; dried fruits and pearl sugar with a price of 278 yen for dried fruits and 258 for pearl sugar (price excluding tax). Note that it is with a halal mark.
The cake has a chiffon-like moist texture and has a strong flavor of cinnamon (in pearl sugar flavor) and raisins (in dried fruits flavor).
