Non-Pork Non-Alcohol Bento Found at The Giant Convenience Store, Seven Eleven!
The Japan’s largest chain of convenience stores, Seven Eleven started to selling two non-pork non-alcohol foods at some of their stores in Tokyo such as the Asakusa Kaminarimon-mae store, Toshima Minami-Otsuka 3-chome store, Akihabara Center Place store, Akihabara Eki-Kita store etc. It seems to be unavailable in some stores or in certain time.
The two items are butter chicken curry bento which is available at 464 yen (including tax) and chicken teriyaki bento at 550 yen (including tax).
The manufacturer disclosed the policy in producing these two products so please do check it beforehand. It is mentioned that halal-certified chicken and seasoning that are free from pork-derived/alcohol derived ingredients, are used in the bento. The cooking utensils used are washed cleanly according to Japanese hygiene standards, but it does not dedicated exclusively for the non-pork non-alcohol products.

・The company does not obtain halal certificate from the third body.
・The factory is manufacturing general products and is not dedicated exclusively for non-pork non-alcohol products.
・The bento do not use pork meat, ingredients that mentioning “pork” or “pork-derived”, or alcohol seasonings such as cooking sake and mirin.
・Chicken used are all halal-certified.
・Some of seasonings used are halal-certified (for the non-halal certified seasonings, the ingredients containing are checked before usage).
・Heating equipment, rice-cooking equipment, topping line are shared with general products, but they are properly cleaned and manufactured with care to prevent other ingredients from mixing.
・After the bento lid properly closed, it uses the same transport container, product storage, transport truck, and distribution warehouse with the general products.
