Visiting Japan Without Enjoying Halal Kobe Beef? Nah!
Halal Kobe beef has been a wide topic in these recent years. It was known worldwide as the most expensive and delicious meat.
Issho Ueno, a halal restaurant within a minute’s walk from JR Ueno station starts to serve halal Kobe beef steak in July 2022! It makes the restaurant become the ONLY restaurant in Tokyo that serves halal Kobe Beef!
The foods served in the restaurant are all halal, even Japanese customers coming there also enjoy the halal foods (without knowing it!).

Ribeye or Sirloin?
You can choose the part you want between ribeye and sirloin. Sirloin is the softest part that easily melts in your mouth and is the most expensive meat, while ribeye has a slightly firm texture and less fatty than sirloin.

Comes in Course Menu
The Kobe beef comes on the course menu, consisting of tempura, fresh sashimi, motsunabe, and dessert that definitely satisfy your appetite! The course menu is available starting from 2 people.
In enjoying the Kobe beef steak, you can choose to eat it as it is, dips it in a sweet sauce, or have it with some amount of wasabi! We were surprised that wasabi meets very nicely with the Kobe beef (sirloin) which increases the whole flavor.

Having sirloin steak with a pinch of wasabi
If you are not good at eating wasabi, don’t be afraid as we do too! Most foreigners in Japan do not good at eating wasabi, but wasabi from Issho Ueno does not spicy at all! But, why?
According to the shop manager, high-quality wasabi does not spicy and blends very well with foods. So give yourself a try at eating wasabi with Kobe beef steak!
Finish The Meals With a Flavorful Motsunabe
Issho Ueno is originally known for its amazing motsunabe. They are is recognized as #1 by the Japanese popular gourmet website “Tabelog” as the most delicious motsunabe restaurant in Tokyo (Ueno area).

The Issho’s motsunabe is rich in flavor with a kick of spices that makes Muslims in Tokyo addicted!
The motsunabe is broiled to bring out the flavor and umami, then is put on a stove until boiled.

After finishing the food until only the soup is left, you can choose between noodles or rice to be added to the soup. This is called shime in Japanese, which means the last food you eat to finish off.
