On April 9, 2024, the Islamic community in Japan, alongside the Ruyatl-e-Hilal Committee-Japan, eagerly awaited the sighting of the new moon, a crucial event that signifies the end of Ramadan. However, despite their efforts, the new moon was not observed within the Japanese skies.
In a beautiful testament to the unity and shared traditions of the Ummah, the Muslim community in Japan turned their eyes towards their brothers and sisters in Malaysia. On the same day, Malaysia’s Islamic authorities confirmed the sighting of the new moon. This significant event underscores the deep connections within the Islamic world, transcending geographical boundaries.
