A list of Muslim-friendly spots in Asahikawa, Hokkaido

Hello, my name is Ozaki, and I am a food writer.
I introduce healthy and delicious food mainly in the Asahikawa area of Hokkaido,
and specialize in natural food restaurants that do not use any additives or MSG.
I make efforts to host Muslim people with the hope of realizing “Asahikawa,
the city with Japan’s most delicious Muslim-friendly restaurants” with Kutta Limited Liability Company as the center.

Asahikawa City spreads in Kamikawa-bonchi located in central Hokkaido and is a major urban city with the second largest population in Hokkaido next to Sapporo City. The best part of Asahikawa City is the wealth of food ingredients and majestic nature, which attracts five million tourists annually.
It can be conveniently accessed, with an hour and a half away from Sapporo by train and approximately an hour and a half from Tokyo by plane, and is also the hub of popular tourist attractions such as Furano and Biei.
If you are visiting Japan, please also take the time to visit Asahikawa.

There are prayer spaces near Asahikawa Airport. Click here for more information.

Main attractions

Asahikawa Zoo has hippos running down the bottom of a pool

Asahikawa Zoo has a giant hippopotamus running down the bottom of a 3-meter-depth pool. I also recommend the “Feeding time,” a great chance to see animals in action. Make sure to check in advance since the meal time differs by animals. Asahikawa Zoo has its own prayer space, so you can enjoy the park without worries.
Please be advised that you must contact the Central Support Center to use the prayer space in the central area.

A bright white snow castle, the Snow Museum

This museum became famous for its appearance which reminds you of the castle that appeared in the popular movie, “Frozen.” The “Princess Experience” is a super popular service where you can take a picture in a dress in front of the “Icy ambulatory” where the temperature is maintained at -15 degrees C for the entire year to keep structures made of ice from melting.

Experience horseback riding during the summer and winter at Clark Horse Garden

You can experience horseback riding in an environment surrounded by nature at the suburban and rural areas of Asahikawa at “Clark Horse Garden.” They accept horseback riding experiences even in the snowy season when the ground becomes covered with snow.
