KYOTO NARITAYA1
Written by Lala-san
Kyoto is one of the beautiful cities in Japan. It is a tourist hotspot especially during autumn and spring. There are some halal restaurants in Kyoto that muslim can consume food safely. One of the halal restaurants is Naritaya, which is located 8 minutes from Gion-shijo station. Naritaya started their business in Asakusa (Tokyo) and soon they have their branch in Kyoto. The restaurant is certified as halal restaurant by Japan Islamic Trust. Operating from 11:00-22:00, this restaurant provides nice dining environment with counter seats, some tables seats, and one big table seat. Something which is a little different in this restaurant is that they often play recitation of the Quran.

Customers are advised to try their special menu, which is Gion mazesoba. It is special oiled ramen noodles without soup. If you order Gion mazesoba and you have eaten all noodles, you can request the staff to add rice for free and mix them with the remaining sauce in your bowl. They also prepare other menus such as shoyu ramen, miso ramen, spicy miso ramen, and soy milk ramen for vegetarians. The food are widely affordable, where the prices range around ¥700~¥1200. There are also menu sets which cost around ¥1000~¥1700. If you like spicy, you will surely be happy to dine here as they provide chilli sauce for you to enrich your ramen!

Another mentionable point is, they are very thoughtful to prepare a comfortable and clean prayer space and wudhu place. Prayer mats and praying clothes are also provided.

In Naritaya, all menu is 100% halal. They don’t serve alcohol at all, and they have prayer space and wudhu place. It is a perfect halal restaurant for muslim. I would strongly recommend you to dine in this restaurant if you happen to visit Kyoto.
